We went paddling on a lake with some friends yesterday. There was some snow on the ground around the lake in spots, not a lot, but some. The water was about 33 degrees and the air about 70. We met the park ranger and he said it had snowed every day last week. When we got to the lake road into the parking lot was gated so we had to carry the canoe and kayaks in about 300 feet. When we left I took our canoe over the little dam and canoed it down closer to the car since the canoe is so heavy. On the way home we stopped at one of the streams and had lunch. It was a very pleasant day.

Last Day Of Kindergarten

Well, it is official, we have a First Grader. James had his last day of Kindergarten on Wednesday last week. His first summer break was celebrated by two days of going to the lake, fishing, and playing. We had a great year, a great teacher, and a time. Thanks to all of his classmates and especially his teacher, Mr. Ferris, who has taught children for many years and is so wonderful with them. We could not have asked for a better teacher and were so lucky to have him. James's introduction to school was great and Mr. Ferris laid the foundation for James to love school and enjoy going every day.
