We went canoeing last Sunday at Slab Creek Resevior. James found a pet and kept it, here Patrick uses it for adornment.

Smoke on the water

We had a lot of smoke from the fires in California. The local air quality was bad. Here is a view of the lake on the 30th of July where you can hardly see the other side. It has cleared up now even though there are still quite a few fires around. Usually you can see the mountains in the background.

Happy Birthday, James!

James turned 6 on the 24th of June. We had a party at the pool on the 28th. We invited his classmates and friends. Swam for an hour or so then had lunch, beat the pulp out of a pinata, ate cake, and went to swim some more.

Happy 4th

James having a good time at Lake Tahoe while we wait for the fireworks. We were a couple of miles from the actual display on Pope Beach. There were thousands of people on the beach. It was great. The reflection on the water was special.
