Thawed OUT!

We left Pollock Pines for Hawaii. Talk about two VERY different places. When we got up to leave home there was a foot of fresh snow overnight. That was on top of the foot we received in the last two days. The snow plow had plowed us in and the berm was about 3 feet tall. I spent about 15 minutes shoveling us out that morning at 4 am. It was 26 degrees. Here in Hawaii it is 78 degrees and the trade winds are blowing. It has rained off and on with brief periods of sun. It is very relaxing and enjoyable. On Monday we hiked along the North Shore to hidden beach. It was a great hike along the ocean and the weather was wonderful. A bit of drizzle but mostly sun and a few clouds. We (James and I) went snorkeling Tuesday and saw some great fish and a small green sea turtle. There were some larger sea turtle on the sand basking in the sun and more out in the water.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow...

Well, it is snowing today. Again. We have had snow 11 out of the last 12 days. I guess I deserve it. Wanted out of Texas so bad the snow god is rewarding me with a superb year. James and I went skiing on Wednesday, January 30th as his school was closed due to slippery road conditions. We took advantage of the slippery and had a great time. The school was also closed on the previous Wednesday for the same reason. I had an appointment then, so James stayed with his Grandmother. We have made the best of it as much as possible. We go sledding, snowboarding, and skiing as much as we can. James is doing real well skiing and likes to jump little jumps and even some big ones that scare me. He is rather fearless and goes where ever he likes. We have a great time skiing as a family.

Here is a video of James going over a jump.
